The non-visual component ApplicationEvents can be used, for example, to get the the name of the control under the mouse cursor:
If you'd rather not use this non-visual component declare, in the private section of a form, a procedure DoOnApplicationIdle (name of the procedure can be changed to anything) with the same parameters as the OnIdle event of the Application and in the OnCreate event of the form, set OnIdle event of the application to the newly created procedure: Application.OnIdle := DoOnApplicationIdle.
