An Indexing engine originally used to index files might be expanded to index websites. The Directory Location would be changed to a "Location Source" with 2 options to specify the source type, the first type being a directory and the second type being a URL.

[edit] Report Generator steps

A report generator program might be originaly designed to execute a series of SQL processing steps. Later a "step" could be expanded to be an "import data step" or a "scripting step". In the software you would give the option of choosing the step type: SQL, Import, or scripting.
